This Spring, We’re Moving Local Meat into Community Distribution.

Chenango Food Alliance is coordinating our 2026 Spring Meat the Need Round, connecting local farmers, regional processors, and community food access partners.

​

This round includes:

- Two pigs already harvested and currently being processed by the farmer

- One cow to be secured once fully funded

​

The Pigs Are Already in Motion

Due to farm timing considerations, two pigs were harvested at the farmer’s discretion and are now being processed and prepared for delivery.

​

We are raising funds to cover:

• The cost of the animals

• Local processing

• Packaging and preparation for distribution

​

The farmer assumed harvest and processing risk. Reimbursement for animal and processing costs occurs only as funds are raised.

​

If funding goals are not met, CFA assumes no obligation beyond funds received.

​

The Cow Unlocks When Fully Funded

The cow operates under a funding-gated model.

​

The animal will be secured only when sponsor-confirmed funds meet or exceed total required funding (animal + processing).

​

No bridge funding. No CFA financial exposure.

Chenango Food Alliance operates under sponsorship. Donations are processed by Catskill Agrarian Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and are restricted to support the Meat the Need program.

CFA operates under a funding-gated round model and does not assume financial obligation beyond sponsor-confirmed funds received.
